when i was a child i never fell asleep, he never let me, he was always there, staring with no real look on his face, no emotion that i could process, no motion that i could see

i was never scared of it, buy its aura wouldn't stop bothering me,

it was like a bad lingering memory, a trauma but it was physically real, i could touch it and it would just stare and stare and stare, i never knew what it wanted or if he wanted anything at all

i tried to tell my parents but they wouldnt see it, or at least they pretended to not see it, but they would always avoid it when they were in my room, i dont really know if it was on purpose or not

i used to call it mortu, i dont know why but it seemed to fit it, he was about 7 foot, lanky and sharp fingers, always hunching, it never made a sound

when i did fell asleep, sometimes i would wake to it staring closely to my face

one time i woke up to it laying in my bed staring at me, motionless

it was like that until one day it vanished, it was just gone

i never saw mortu again, weirdly enough i have nostalgic memories of me talking to it when i was alone and bored but of course it never said anything back, i know should be scared of it but

i dont know, since it never tried to harm me or anything, i just didnt care, it just stood there, staring..
